Why you should pay Good to your web designer?

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

Have you ever invested in branding and advertising? Most of you will say yes, but the spending is little. Then you should see your site as a branding medium.

Today the world is heavily living on internet. Whenever you call a prospect he surely checks your website to check your authenticity. And if he sees a well maintained and designed site, he becomes pretty confident about you. Actually you might be a good company but a client staying far from your place only relies on your web presence. So just having a site is not enough, but a good informative and customer friendly site is your necessity.

Going one step beyond, your site can create a craze among others and think of it, you will not have to explain a lot to your client offline & you will get so many hours to talk to another prospect. You will gain lot more that you have invested by paying well to your site designer.

What you will gain?

Generally we designers want a good, well maintained and well trafficked site on our portfolio. For that sometimes we go extra mile than your order to ensure the site quality. Designer / Developer put his best effort to each new project. He wants to do well than the previous one. But if he is not getting proper money he is forced to leave so many of his ideas that might give you a better site for your visitor.

Generally corporates think a web designer should get less as he has to make less investment. But doesn’t his concepts worth a lot to you? For the creative thinking only an artist get a lot from one of his paintings. Otherwise it’s only a work of paint brush & some colors.

The time he spends to design your site can be diverted to many small projects, from which he can make more money in total & more number of customers. So it is like retaining your best marketing executive by giving him more salary or perks.

What you should do?

After telling him the idea of the total site and explaining the target audience you take the suggestions from him how you can improve it. He spends more time seeing different sites & their strategies. So his input can give you a better result. Before that plese don’t forget to tell, “We are open to new ideas and if you can provide more by considering our target audience, we can allocate more money to the project. We want you should put your full effort to make us better than others.” As a web designer I’ll be sold out to you if you will tell it to me. I’ll never mind to brainstorm and research on methods to develop it better than of IBM or top cos sites.

So keep faith on your developer, want more from him & give him more. At last good news for you, many small companies are out beating the large MNCs on cyber space due to the proper utilization of the internet weapon. So in this recession put your website into first place and out beat larger companies.
